The Witcher 4 can wait, this Game Of Thrones RPG looks amazing

Who knows how long we’ll have to wait until we get a glimpse of The Witcher 4, let alone be able to play it.

So, we’re constantly on the lookout for something to fill that void in our lives until CD Projekt Red can take us back to that world.

It has been a while since we were in the throes of Game of Thrones but a new game may entice us back

Enter Game of Thrones Kingsroad, which looks to take over our lives as it recreates not only the much-loved HBO universe, but also the hack and slash combat we so desperately miss.

There’s not much to go on right now, only a trailer, but what we’ve seen looks to be decent and it certainly evokes the feeling the HBO show gave us.

The trailer opens up with a familiar face in Jon Snow who is standing at The Wall looking out to the wilds.

It seems the game will put us in control of holding back the Wights as part of the Night’s Watch.

The combat and traversal puts in mind the epic moments of The Witcher 3 with epic sword fights and galloping horses storming through wooded areas.

At one point, several members of the Night’s Watch take on a giant in the cold wastes beyond The Wall and it’s a pulse-pounding moment as the creature dishes out massive AOE attacks.

As this is due to be a mobile game, there’s no sense of how this will be controlled - whether real-time or via a tactical menu, but it looks to be the former.

How that will work with touch screens is hard to imagine, but hopefully NetMarble pulls it off because a genuine Game of Thrones RPG is exactly what the fanbase wants.

Little is known beyond the trailer, other than a tentative release window of 2025, and the platforms it will come to - iOS and Android.

Fingers crossed we see much more of this soon as it could be exactly what we need to tide us over until The Witcher 4.
