The Sims just turned 25 years old, and EA is handing out a bunch of freebies to celebrate.

As detailed in a press release on The Sims' official website, 70 free items are landing in The Sims 4 to mark the franchise’s 25th birthday.

These include brand new hairstyles such as “baby hairs” and a goatee, new clothing options such as a “turtleneck and bodysuit, jackets, jeans, [and] bike shorts”, as well as new accessories and shoes including a gold chain, a classy set of pearls, an athletic cap, heels, sneakers, and sandals.

Plus, alongside all of these freebies, there’s a new limited-time event to help mark the occasion (appropriately titled Blast From the Past).

“Venture into Live Mode beginning today to participate in the limited-time The Sims 4 Blast From The Past Event, where a mysterious figure has blasted into town just in time and needs your help! Someone is 'borrowing' from the past, and you’ll need to unravel the mystery through time.”

Take a look at the new The Sims & The Sims 2 Legacy Collections below.

Honestly though, as cool as free new content is, the best part of the birthday celebrations is the 24-hour livestream they’re currently holding.

They’ve got a weirdly impressive amount of guest stars on this thing, including Doja Cat, Latto, Dan & Phil, and even the one and only Ironmouse.

As of writing, it’s still got another 12 hours left, but thankfully you can just rewind if you missed out on Doja Cat setting fire to a bunch of her Sims.

All of the newly announced content is available right now though, so boot up The Sims 4 and claim the limited-time freebies while you still can.

Or, you know, just keep playing the far superior The Sims 2 instead like the rest of us are doing. In fact, you may as well just delist The Sims 4 now, EA. You really did nail the formula back in 2004.
