It has been heavily rumoured for quite some time that there’s a remake of The Elder Scrolls VI: Oblivion coming soon.

God, I hope the rumours turn out to be true, as that was a highlight game for me on Xbox 360 and many others who discovered The Elder Scrolls because of it.

Is The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion about to make a comeback?

According to a rumour over on Reddit, which came from Twitter user DetectiveSeeds, the remake could be landing this week.

The tweet says, “I believe the Oblivion remake is going to release end of next week, likely Thursday April 3rd.”

Is it a credible source? Who knows, at this point, so many people have access to these leaks, but this account has been right about a few things in recent months.

The folks on Reddit aren’t sure, either, but that doesn’t stop the hype train from rolling.

“Either a pre April Fool's joke or I’m about to be 50-70 dollars poorer very soon,” said TheBiggestJig.

Of course, if this is real, it’s highly likely the Oblivion remake would drop onto Xbox Game Pass, so that could save millions of us a few pennies.

“If this happens, I’ll drop everything going on in my life and just no life the s**t out of it,” comments FallenShadeslayer - yeah, you and me both, dude.

The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion has long been a fan-favourite, and players have been begging for a return to the title.

For millions, this was their first foray into the world of Tamriel and the expansive exploration in a Bethesda game.

It holds a special places in the hearts of gamers, and if this rumour turns out to be real, then 3 April will be the day we go back to closing hellish rift gates across Cyrodil.

Cross your fingers, your toes, and anything else crossable.
