Stranger Things star Gaten Matarazzo is afraid that he won’t get any work once the Netflix show comes to an end.

There’s no denying that Gaten Matarazzo is a fantastic actor. In fact, Dustin is my personal favourite character on the popular Netflix series. Matarazzo not only brings a high level of drama to his scenes but he’s also got fantastic comedic timing. Aged just 20 years old, he’s clearly no longer the teenager that he portrays in Stranger Things and has decades of acting gigs left in the tank. However, with season five concluding the main story of Stranger Things, Matarazzo has no doubt been wondering, what’s next?

Who's excited to watch The Super Mario Bros. Movie? It looks really good.

As reported by our friends at UNILAD, Matarazzo appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and the actor expressed his concerns about life after Stranger Things. Matarazzo was still optimistic about the impact the series has had as well as his relationship with the fans. “It’s interesting to constantly just be reminded how much people have resonated with it,” Matarazzo told Fallon. “I mean, it’s something that’s so important to all of us and has just been essential to the growth that I’ve had over all of my teenage years into my 20s. It’s the defining aspect of the past 10 years of my life, practically the past decade.”

Changing the direction of what’s next, Matarazzo seemed somewhat uncertain about what his future may hold. “There’s like a deep fear,” he told the audience. “Not only has it been amazing, but it’s been pretty great job security for a while. Back to freelance.” Being somewhat pessimistic, there is a trend in which child TV and movie actors play a particular role so well, they struggle to get cast as anything else. That being said, if Matarazzo struggles to land gigs in the thriller genre, I have no doubts that he can be a successful comedic actor. Matarazzo, you’ve got this.

In related Stranger Things news, a new game lets you play as the iconic series villain Vecna - and it lets you murder everyone. Lovely! At this time, season five of Stranger Things doesn't have a release date but hopefully, it should arrive in the next few years.
