Steam free download is a stunning mix of Hogwarts Legacy and Zelda

If you have ever wondered what the lovechild of Hogwarts Legacy and The Legend of Zelda would look like then wonder no more as one free Steam demo is just that.

Magicraft is a roguelike game by Wave Game which uses “a variety of spells to match unimaginable spell effects”.

“The legend! The one who pulls out the staff will be the brave one who saves the world!” the official synopsis reads. “Magicraft is a magic action roguelike game. The game takes the world invaded by ancient gods as the core, creating an aerial magical fantasy world. The player will be a brave man who strays into this world and pulls out the legendary staff, Crusades against monsters, combines unique spells, defeats the ancient gods, and saves the world invaded by the ancient gods!”

With a “cute painting style and nonsense plot”, Magicraft combines the exploration of The Legend of Zelda with the magic of Hogwarts Legacy and puts it together to create a roguelike indie title that is available to try out for free in early access now.

At the time of writing this article, Magicraft sits at a ‘very positive’ rating on Steam and this is perhaps no surprise considering the title has been compared to the likes of The Binding of Isaac, a critically acclaimed roguelike released in 2011.

Launched in early access for Steam recently, Magicraft arms you with a plethora of spells and staffs that you can combine to unleash a myriad of attacks whilst darting from room to room and enemy to enemy. Additionally, the list of combinations you can create is endless so no playthrough is the same. This means you can burn, freeze, explode, melt and fight your way to victory.
