Steam's Latest Four Free Games Includes a 9/10 Horror

An intriguing selection

Steam really is the most consumer friendly video game storefront around, with a ton of sales, great offers and events that allow players to get their hands on very good (and very cheap) games.

The one thing that's even better than cheap games, however, are free ones, and the platform isn't afraid of hosting a ton of those either, with more being added all the time.

That includes four brand new games that have just released, covering genres from horror to RPGs, with plenty of positive reviews already from the gathered masses who lined up to play.

As shared by the ever-reliable Free Steam Games on Twitter/X, four new games are available to download right now, with one of them sitting on Very Positive reviews at the time of writing.

The first, and simplest, of the bunch is Pac-Snec, a game that combines elements from two absolute classics of a bygone era.

Built in a Pac-Man style map, your job is once again to go around and collect the food and points, whilst avoiding the dangerous ghosts.

This time around, however, you'll be playing as a snake who grows with everything it eats, in a similar way to the Nokia phone game of the late-90s (which itself was based on Blockade).

UNCHAINED is probably the standout, a psychological horror game where you explore an abandoned virtual desktop that's supposedly hiding a terrible secret.

The lo-fi aesthetic and creepy vibes seem to have struck a chord with players, as the game currently sits on positive reviews across the board.

Monster Lab Simulator genuinely looks like a bit of a sleeper hit.

The game is a creature collector that puts players into their own lab, where you create, raise, and battle monsters from a ton of different types.

You'll be doing science-y things like synthesising essences and experimenting with different combinations along the way. Overall, it's difficult to think of a comparable example, so it's a great bet if you've been dreaming of becoming a mad scientist.

Lastly we have Resonance Solstice, a bizarre real-time trading game that combines real-time card battles with train simulation.

Lord knows who came up with the idea, but it's a big budget game and, again, there's nothing else out there like it.

All four are available to download right now, so go and take a look at the Steam storefront if any of them take your fancy.
