It’s not likely that you’ll get to play a video game that blends the best of a sci-RPG such as Starfield or an intense third-person shooter like Gears of War, but here we are with Helldivers 2.
Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, Helldivers 2 is a sci-fi co-op third-person shooter and it's already looking to be one of the most exciting video games of 2024 just weeks before its big release with its intense action and intergalatic space adventures.

Announced in 2023, fans itching for a high-octane co-op shooter on PC and PlayStation 5 have been waiting patiently for the arrival of Helldivers 2, but finally, that time is fast approaching. Achieving a respectable score of 83 on Metacritic, the original Helldivers was released in 2015 for PC, PS3, PS4 and PS Vita and the upcoming sequel looks to improve on its predecessor in every way.
“The Galaxy’s Last Line of Offence. Enlist in the Helldivers and join the fight for freedom across a hostile galaxy in a fast, frantic, and ferocious third-person shooter,” reads the synopsis of Helldivers 2. “Freedom. Peace. Democracy. Your Super Earth-born rights. The key pillars of our civilization. Of our very existence. But the war rages on. And everything is once again under threat. Join the greatest military force the galaxy has ever seen and make this a safe and free place to live.
To help achieve a successful mission in Helldivers 2 you will be able to customise your loadout to your heart's content to give you the best odds of survival. However, without a coherent team, your attempts at survival will be futile. “Watch each other’s back. Friendly fire is an unfortunate certainty of war, but victory without teamwork is impossible,” states the ominous warning.
Helldivers 2 will be released on PC and PlayStation 5 on 8 February 2024.
