The tale of Anakin Skywalker is a tragic one, more tragic than the tale of Darth Plagueis The Wise.
A boy who could have been a great Jedi Master was twisted and corrupted by the Dark Side, not through a desire for power though, but the desire to save the love of his life from an unknown fate.
Anakin’s relationship with Senator Padmé Amidala is the catalyst for the Original Trilogy, so it’s nice to see their relationship still as important by the time the sequels roll around, specifically with a new prequel comic for Star Wars Episode IX: The Rise Of Skywalker.

Star Wars: Legacy Of Vader is a limited-series by Marvel that follows Kylo Ren after the events of Star Wars Episode VIII: The Last Jedi.
As you can imagine Kylo is in his feelings a bit as he’d killed his dad, his former master, had his proposal of friendship/love rejected by Rey and then had his uncle prank him in front of all his friends/employees, embarrassing.
He’s searching for information and relics of the past involving Darth Vader, who he looks up to as a mentor as well as his grandfather.
In the fourth issue his journey brings him to Naboo, where his grandfather and grandmother fell in love and essentially doomed the galaxy.

The issue cover depicts Kylo standing in a Naboo field, lightsaber and helmet in hand, as a vision of Anakin and Padmé appears in the background, it’s very sweet to see theme reunited.
What exactly Kylo will learn from this whistle stop tour around the galaxy remains to be seen but it looks like it’ll further explain his change of heart in the ninth film, which finally occurs when his mother Leia passes away and he realises just how far he’s fallen. The fourth issue of Star Wars: Legacy Of Vader is out now.
