The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition players can finally visit one of Tamriel's strangest and most beloved regions thanks to a wonderful fan-made expansion.

Shadow Of Morrowind is a project that has been in development for some time, and was largely abandoned for a number of years. But like a phoenix from the ashes, it has returned once more as a downloadable mod for Skyrim: Special Edition on PC.

Take a look at some of our favourite Skyrim wins and fails below!

Shadow Of Morrowind SE is a slightly reworked port of the original mod, with a new team behind it ready to get it finished. For real, this time. As you'd expect, the mod allows players to travel to Morrowind and see what the province is like in the Fourth Era.

It's still fairly early days for the mod, so don't expect dozens of hours of new content just yet. While the new team does aim to develop it further, they've stressed that they're a small team that can only do so much.

“Our immediate goals are to both maintain and support this version of the port, whilst working on our own expansion and overhaul of the content to someday bring a finished version of Morrowind to the community," the developers wrote in an update to fans.

"For now the team remains small, so don’t expect any miracles, but we believe in releasing our work for public feedback as we go, so while a feature-complete Morrowind may be a ways off, we hope to bring new releases out regularly so you can see our progress.”

You can download mod for yourself and start exploring Morrowind in Skyrim from here. Just remember to be patient, and that the people making this incredible content from virtually nothing are busting their asses out of nothing more than a love for The Elder Scrolls.
