For a while there, it was gaming’s worst kept secret, but now, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered is out, and in the hands of RPG lovers everywhere.

Among the improved visuals, the still brilliant story, and enhancements elsewhere in the game, Bethesda and Virtuous added in a delightful secret for fans of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Are you venturing back to The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in this stunning remaster?

When in game, if players look out towards Skyrim at night, where the peaks of the mountains scrape the sky, you can see an aurora appear.

Dappling the night sky with greens, blues, and indigo, the aurora is a sight to behold, and a lovely touch for fans of both games.

Posting a screenshot of the moment to Twitter, one fan said, “Is it too early to call this the greatest remaster of all time?”

The remaster of one of Bethesda’s most beloved games has been impressing players all over, with many championing the love and care that has been lavished on the classic title.

Continuing on Twitter, fans began heaping praise on the new outing, with one saying, “Man, now I wish for Skyrim to get this treatment!!!”

Let’s hope they get The Elder Scrolls VI out-of-the-way first, though Virtuous did such an amazing job here, I wouldn’t be surprised if they were drafted in again.

“I’m biased as a HUGE scrolls fan, but for me this is the best Remaster I’ve ever played!!!” exclaimed another player.

“Looks so nice I can almost hear "you're finally awake" on the wind,” joked a fan in the replies.

So far, we’ve been very impressed with what we’ve played of this remaster, and it’s certainly up there as one of the greats.

“This is probably the greatest love letter to video games I have ever seen,” enthused another player, likely as captivated as everyone else.

It seems everyone thinks this is a very special release, and will be a highlight of 2025.
