Skyrim fans horrified to discover major NPC was a vampire this whole time

Their secret revealed

Some of the NPCs in The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim can turn out to be secret vampires if you follow the right clues.

It feels like Skyrim players fall into two camps when it comes to vampires, with one side taking the Blade approach and despising them, and the other wanting to be one. Both camps have a mad crush on Serana though, that’s just a given.

Skyrim has an entire DLC focused around vampires, and in my opinion they’re much cooler than the werewolves

While the DLC throws a load of vampires right into your face though, there are particular NPCs who are more secretive about their afflictions.

Some players might be unaware that residents of the Blue Palace in Solitude are some of those NPCs, secret vampires that you can discover by chatting to the right people.

“If I’m not mistaken, these are vampires right? It’s definitely the eyes right?” asked Reddit user PabloEskyBrahhh.

“Yes, Sybille Stentor and Hert are vampires.” One of the comments replied. “Detect life/dead spell really gives it away along with the eyes.

“There are some other clues, too, that are fun to pick up on. Sybille sends the Dragonborn to go hunt down a group of vampires, calls them nasty creatures, and you can ask her why she looks so young. And with Hert, go behind her house and look around. Seems she’s been doing a little feeding.”

Other threads have discussed these secret vamps too, with players saying talking to the chef and the executioner also provide clues on the matter.

Hopefully we see the return of vampires as well as other magical creatures in The Elder Scrolls VI, as with an open-world that big there’s plenty of opportunity to cram in as many different species and societies as possible, even better if they’re factions to befriend.
