These huge RPGs always seem to be hiding away little secrets for you to find throughout many playthroughs. Even though Skyrim has been out for over a decade by now, it has the ability to surprise us.

Of course, if you’re the player who completes everything, explores every building, and examines every surface for items and lore, you may already have seen this. For everyone else, here’s a little detail you can look for the next time you start another run through Bethesda’s masterpiece.

Skyrim is the game that keeps on giving

It seems Skyrim has been hiding a great armour set for assassins in a secret room in Hag’s End. To access the hidden room you must first complete the quest, ‘Locate the Assassin of Old’ while you must also have met the requirement of ‘Breaching Security’. While the secret room is present behind the throne in Hag’s End, the pull chain that opens the door will not appear until you have visited Olava.

Once this task is complete you can pull the chain and the room will open. Inside you will find a dead assassin wearing the Ancient Shrouded Armour which you can now remove. It’s a light armour set made of leather with a base armour value of 72, weighing in at 7.5. If you don’t need this new set you could sell it for 2346 gold, which isn’t too bad for a few minutes work.

Each piece of the armour will bestow bonus attributes including more damage for bow attacks, poison resistance, and double sneak damage. Pretty good for a budding adventurer. This is perfect for the earlier sections of the game when you’re at a lower level as it is equal to dragonscale armour and will protect you against a variety of blows. Have you found this armour? Will you look for it on your next playthrough?
