Someone has just discovered possibly the best exploit I’ve heard of for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, and it’s so incredibly simple that I honestly feel like an idiot for never having tried this before.

Most Bethesda RPGs have a lot of shared mechanics, but whether you’re playing a Fallout or an Elder Scrolls title there’s one thing you’re always going to keep an eye on: over encumbrance.

Now you could just whack some points in strength or enlist the help of a follower to help share the load, but where’s the fun in that?

Instead, one user over on the r/skyrim subreddit has discovered a far more inventive (and devious) way to ensure that you never have to bother worrying about your weight limit ever again.

“Has it ever happened to you that you enter a cave, loot the entire place and find yourself with the misfortune that you do not have more weight available to carry more things? You have no positions of strength or a follower to help you,” writes user PibardoAnasheIinsta.

“Well, NO MORE!! Find one of the bandits/skeletons you killed along the way, open its corpse and deposit all that damn extra weight. Then, revive them with a little conjuration, grab all the loot you're missing, exit the cave, and take a quick trip to the nearest city. Upon arrival, the reanimated corpse will be in pieces next to you, with all your extra loot!”

Honestly, Bethesda’s games do get a lot of stick for all their jank, but silly unintended stuff like this is one of the reasons why their titles are so beloved.

It allows players to find creative, out-of-the-box solutions to silly problems like this and I love it. Genuinely would have never thought of doing this myself, but I’m definitely gonna take the first opportunity to use a corpse as my Royal Mail delivery man on my next play-through.
