Red Dead Redemption 2 fans on Reddit have been paying tribute to one gamer’s grandpa, who’s been hailed as “the real-life Arthur Morgan”.

Reddit user KalebMM7845 took to the r/reddeadredemption subreddit to share photos of their late grandpa Les, who they explained was known as “The Famous Mountain Man Les” in his job at a theatre which focused on Native American and frontiersman history and activities.

Les had modified a rifle to shoot water, which he used as a prop to spray young visitors on field trips. He was also an avid craftsman - KalebMM7845 shared a number of pictures of necklaces, bracelets, weapons, and even boots that he’d skilfully made over the years.

“I lost him in 2017, I was just under 13 years old,” KalebMM7845 explained in the thread. “I’m now 18 and wish every day that I could talk to him now that I'm older, one of my main passions is stuff related to everything he did, wild western/mountain man things. When you're a kid you don't see the specialness of it, I wish I could have learned more from him. He was the nicest, most genuine man I've ever known. He could light up an entire room with just his smile and laugh.”

Others have been sharing their condolences, and are in agreement that he totally embodied Red Dead Redemption 2’s Arthur Morgan: “That's one badass grandpa. I can totally hear him saying ‘Howdy mister’ in that friendly Arthur way,” SputnikVB wrote. “Love that water gun rifle haha! Also looks like he got along with dogs too, Arthur would definitely approve,” artemisthearcher commented. “Your grandpa is cool[,] he really is a real life Arthur Morgan,” added Tankman2008.

Here at GAMINGbible, our condolences go out to Grandpa Les’ family and friends. Hug your grandparents tight if you can.
