When it comes to some of the best narrative-driven single player games, Red Dead Redemption 2 definitely stands out.
Released back in 2018 as a prequel to 2010’s Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is up there with the best and is proof that nobody quite does a narrative like Rockstar Games.
Now that it has been almost six years since Red Dead Redemption 2 was released, fans are starting to wonder when its next instalment will arrive.

However, with Rockstar hard at work on putting the finishing touches to Grand Theft Auto VI ahead of its release next May, it makes sense that its Red Dead series has taken a bit of a back seat.
Despite this, fans are starting to worry that Red Dead Redemption 3 may never be announced and recently took to r/reddeadredemption to share their frustrations.
“Will we ever get a Red Dead Redemption 3?” one user asked.
“RDR1 and 2 are both amazing games and it would be so good to see another game in the same setting. Feels like GTA VI is the only thing Rockstar is focused on but after that’s released maybe they’ll have time to work on a new Red Dead game?”

At the time of writing, Rockstar has neither confirmed nor denied that Red Dead Redemption 3 exists but with the series being such a success up until now, it would be surprising if it did not come to fruition.
However, one Reddit user disagrees.
“We're never getting RDR3 and if we do it's like 20 years away,” they shared. “They're gonna be focused on GTA VI Online and the cash cow it'll be from micro transactions for years. How fast they abandoned [Red Dead Online] showed us they don't give a s**t about Red Dead and only care about GTA and GTA Online.”
In comparison, a fellow user had an interesting take to share.

“Call me crazy, but I would actually rather have a RDR3 than GTA VI.”
It remains to be seen what Rockstar will be working on once GTA VI is finally released next spring but it seems as though Red Dead Redemption 3 would be fan’s top pick.
