The Red Dead Redemption fandom is united once more.

How long this unison will last is anyone’s guess, such is the fickle nature of fandoms.

Still, it’s lovely to see Red Dead Redemption 2 fans coming together to praise the title’s ‘Mexico DLC’.

Before anyone starts to furiously type a message to tell us there’s no official Mexico DLC in RDR2, we know this ourselves.

You're always an outlaw when you play Red Dead Redemption 2.

But that promise of what the DLC could have been, coupled with the beautiful areas of the Mexico map players have explored, is what users are referring to when they mention downloadable content.

We could debate semantics here, but the key takeaway from this tale is that fans are in agreement that more Mexico content would have enhanced the game further.

“Mexico is so pretty in RDR2, I wish Mexico didn’t get fully cut from the game,” posted smoggy2swag alongside a couple of stunning screenshots of the location.

To this, someone teased, “It's okay.... we just have to wait for the DLC.”

It’s a playful barb, one that speaks of the fandom’s longing for Rockstar Games to revisit this unused content and turn it into something special.

User keyblaster52 commented, “A Javier after 1899 Mexico DLC makes so much sense. It would sell a lot as there is a huge market for RDR2 DLC.”

They continued, “The base game is still topping charts in 2024 without next-gen features.”

Considering how many players are still exploring for hidden details on the map, like creepy caves filled with gold, the argument that RDR2 is still an in-demand game holds weight.

Although RDR2's Mexico DLC has brought fans together, it feels unlikely that Rockstar will release such an expansion.

The publisher is focused on other projects (we hope), such as GTA VI. If Rockstar chose to delay that game in favour of a RDR2 DLC, you can bet your bottom dollar the unity witnessed here would quickly crumble.

At least we’ll always have Mexico via the help of mods.
