Red Dead Redemption 2 gets major graphics boost you can download now

There is no denying that Red Dead Redemption 2 is already a stunning game but can it be even prettier? Apparently it can thanks to one dedicated creator.

With Red Dead Redemption 2 only being released back in 2018, it is still a pretty new title and its graphics confirm that. Giving us a look into sunlit swamps, twilight-touched mountains and dust-lined streets, the Rockstar title is stunning.

However, one creator over on Nexus Mods wished to capture the same graphic limits found in Red Dead Redemption 2’s promotional images and trailers.

Therefore, the Promotional Image and Trailer Graphics Restored and Enhanced mod was born and is now available to download for free.

“This mod attempts to recreate and expand upon the fantastic visuals that can be seen in the official Rockstar Games promotional images and the numerous trailers for the game to the best of my ability”, the creator explains.

To stay faithful to the original game, they just made tweaks to lighting, volumetrics, colour tone, ambient occlusion and more. However, they took some “artistic liberties” by adding new weather types that aren’t in the base title but could be seen in the promotional media.

What this results in is Red Dead Redemption 2 as you have never seen it before. Sunlight is more crisp, outlines are sharper and landscapes are richer in colour.

This is just one of many free mods you can add to Red Dead Redemption 2 and a plethora of other much-loved titles. With mods ranging from simple graphic improvements to whole remakes, there is something for everyone.

That includes this RDR2 mod which adds previously-cut dialogue back to the game. Let’s face it, who doesn’t want to hear more of Arthur’s gruff drawl?
