Red Dead Redemption 2 has received a rather hefty Elden Ring makeover, thanks to a new mod.
I don't think you necessarily believe that Red Dead Redemption 2 and Elden Ring belong in the same universe, and yet one Red Dead modder has done the unthinkable by joining the two.
This comes from our old friend Blurbs, the one responsible for Red Dead Redemption 2 mods in the past like adding Pokémon to the open world, or transforming it into a chaotic Katamari-style game.
Blurbs’ latest challenge is to turn Red Dead Redemption 2 into Elden Ring, matching the vibe of the FromSoftware title as closely as possible.
Advert
Blurbs does this by modding the game with a variety of new features. He makes all NPCs hostile, adds summoning spots for friendly characters, and even makes sure to include that famous “You Died” screen.
He also makes sure to give Arthur a big sword to keep the game melee-focused, as is typically the case with Elden Ring and other FromSoftware games. There’s a really funny part where all NPCs are given these big swords too, and Blurbs doesn’t realise that also gives swords to the entire bird population in the game.
Blurbs' Red Dead Redemption 2 Mod Videos Are Just As Entertaining As The Mods Themselves
The whole video is quite joyful to watch. It’s fun to see Blurbs come up with new ideas on the spot, and contend with various obstacles or funny side effects he encounters as a result of his tinkering.
If you want to watch the video for yourself, you can watch it below.
The summons in particular are quite funny, as he was able to integrate the Twitch text-to-speech feature, resulting in summon signs and messages that are fully voiced by Twitch chat.
He ends the video by showing off a boss fight, where Blurbs has managed to adapt the final boss fight from Elden Ring, Radagon of the Golden Order and Elden Beast, but instead using Uncle as the boss inside an underground cavern.
Sadly, it doesn’t look like the mod is available to download publicly. Blurbs seems to be doing this for his own amusement, as well as the entertainment of anyone watching the video. Fair enough.
However, his Pokemon RPG mod is available on Nexus Mods, so it’s possible that he could be tempted to upload more of his mods in the future.
