Red Dead Redemption 2 'new' DLC leaves fans absolutely furious

A 'new' Red Dead Redemption 2 DLC has left fans feeling absolutely furious.

Rockstar Games is in fan’s bad books after the news that it is shipping out the same DLC for the third year in a row.

Despite Red Dead Redemption 2 only being five years old, it seems as though Rockstar is well and truly done with the game despite no signs of an expansion pack or extra story content. Although fans are willing to give the studio the benefit of the doubt considering they (should be) hard at work on Grand Theft Auto VI, bringing out the same Halloween event for the third year running is not helping its cause.

Check out some wins & fails from Red Dead Redemption 2 below!

That is the case this year with the Red Dead Redemption 2 Halloween Pass. First released in October 2021, it was reissued again in 2022 and now it seems as though Rockstar is going for the hat-trick. Available now until 6 November, the Halloween Pass allows players to rank their way up until level 15 in exchange for earning new outfits and wearables. The Halloween event will also introduce the All Hallow’s Call to Arms game-mode which will see you defending the townsfolk from the ghouls threatening to overrun it.

The silver lining is that if you purchased the Halloween Pass in either 2021 or 2022, you won’t have to buy it again this year. However, if you are new to the event, it will be available at 20 Red Dead Redemption 2 bars. The in-game currency is of course, bought through real life currency which will set you back £8.99/$9.99 for 25 bars. However, you can also earn the gold bars through various in-game activities.

As a way to soften the blow of not releasing any new content, Rockstar is offering players who log in before 6 November a free cavalier hat and red hunter jacket (which are actually new). This is disappointing news for Red Dead Redemption 2 fans but let’s just hope it will all be worth it with the arrival of GTA VI.
