Rockstar Games continues to have its fanbase in the palm of its hand by using its various social media accounts to post everything but the one thing everybody is waiting for.

What do we want? The second official Grand Theft Auto VI trailer. When do we want it? Any day now would be nice, Rockstar.

However, the studio is either unready to release the trailer or it just enjoys teasing us because, despite it being over a year since the first official trailer was released, there is still no sign of the second.

You may be wondering what all of this has to do with Red Dead Redemption 2 and Christmas but trust me, it is all related.

That is because just yesterday, around the time that some “insiders” and leakers claim would see us receive a GTA VI-related announcement from Rockstar, the studio did indeed decide to post to Twitter.

However, it was not what fans were hoping for.

Instead, it was an announcement regarding Red Dead Online’s A Merry Call to Arms festive event.

“Not everyone can be trusted to keep the peace during the holidays. Fight off rogues in a new holiday variation of Red Dead Online’s A Merry Call to Arms,” the Tweet read.

“Also, the frontier’s gentle dusting has turned into a sweeping, swirling snowfall.”

You may be thinking that this is good news for Red Dead Online players at least. However, this event was announced back on 3 December and has been ongoing for a while so it isn’t really news for anybody involved.

As you can expect, GTA VI fans were less than impressed and took to the comments to share their thoughts.

“My heart dropped”, one comment read.

Another said: “All we want for Christmas is trailer two”.

It seems as though 17 December was yet another false alarm but hey, maybe today!
