Niantic has just revealed that a new event is coming to Pokémon GO next month, and players aren’t going to want to miss out on the two legendaries that are up for offer…

A recent update to the Pokémon GO Live website has revealed that a new event is starting on December 14 that will give players a chance to catch some Necrozmas and fuse it into either Dusk Mane Necrozma or Dawn Wings Necrozma.

The event also has an “increased chance to encounter Shiny Necrozma”, which will no doubt be music to the ears of every Pokémon GO shiny hunter.

Over on the r/TheSilphRoad subreddit in a post detailing the announcement, players discussed how excited they were for the event… and what specific feature is missing.

“But no Cosmog…” commented user YutoMaikeru, “can't really do the fusion without its evolutions.”

Fusing Necrozma with either Solgaleo or Lunala requires the player to use 30 Cosmog Candy. These were given out in previous events, but don’t seem to be available in the new one.

Other users are a little bit more excited, however (assumedly because they still have some Cosmog Candy left over from last time).

“I really thought that leak was fake, but nope!” stated user krispyboiz, “I'm super excited for this, even if it feels... A little too soon.”

In case you’re curious what that “leak” is, @pogo_central on Twitter recently posted a list of all of the potential Pokémon GO events in December… and they’ve all been 100% accurate thus far.

It seems fans have at least five more events to look forward to after the Necrozma event finishes, including a special Christmas-themed event that starts on December 17.

Happy holidays, Pokémon GO fans. You can get out there and work off those Christmas dinners while the rest of us lounge about in our pyjamas…
