breaking news
The PlayStation Plus free games for May 2022 have been officially announced, and to the surprise of nobody, it looks like the leak from earlier this week was once again entirely accurate.
Over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony confirmed (a full 24 hours after it had leaked everywhere else) that PS Plus subscribers will be able to get their hands on FIFA 22, Tribes Of Midgard, and Curse Of The Dead Gods.
All three of the free games will be available for PS Plus users to add to their libraries from May 3, at which point they can be downloaded at any time - provided you remain a paid-up PS Plus member.

June will see the start of a brand-new era for PlayStation Plus - one with more options, more games, and (hopefully) less complaining.
This overhauled service is made up of three tiers, each with their own unique benefits and free games. Essential (£7), is PlayStation Plus as we know it. Extra (£11) is the classic service with PlayStation Now's library of games baked in. Premium (£13.49) gets you all that, plus access to a number of currently undisclosed games from the original PlayStation and PlayStation 2 era.
Essentially then, this means that May 2022 is the last month of PlayStation Plus as we currently know it. But with the Essential tier promising to offer up more of the same, I'd imagine it won't be long till users are back arguing about the monthly freebies.
