PlayStation drops 12 free games, available to download now

PlayStation Plus' January extra and premium tier offerings are now available to download.

After being unveiled earlier this month, PlayStation Plus users subscribed to either the extra or premium tiers can now download and access January’s catalogue additions. It’s always a good day when free games are involved.

In case you missed it, essential tier titles are also available now. All PS Plus users can grab Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, Fallout 76, and Axiom Verge 2. Fallen Order is clearly the winner here - especially as the sequel Jedi: Survivor is set to release in March. There really is no better time to get caught up on the series. You’re here for the extra and premium offerings though, so let’s dive into it.

Take a look at Star Wars Jedi: Survivor’s gameplay below. The title will be released on 17 March 2023.

January’s extra and premium tier offerings are finally available as of, well, right now. Go, go, go. Get downloading. Extra subscribers will have access to Back 4 Blood, Dragon Ball FighterZ, Devil May Cry 5: Special Edition, Erica, Jett: The Far Shore, Just Cause 4 Reloaded, Life is Strange, Life is Strange: Before The Storm, and Omno. Premium users can also grab Hot Shots Golf 2, Star Wars Demolition, and Syphon Filter 3.

What do you plan on diving into first? It’s been on my to-do list to play Life is Strange for several years now so I may finally get around to that. Originally, Sayonara Wild Hearts was also announced to be a part of the line-up but Sony later confirmed that this was announced in error, whoops.

It’s not a bad line-up this month. If that doesn’t quite do it for you though, premium subscribers can also now access a two-hour free trial of The Last of Us Part I to coincide with the release of HBO’s TV adaptation. That’s a nice little perk.
