The PlayStation Future Of Gaming event has now been rescheduled for Thursday, June 11th, and fans are starting to look forward to what Sony and its partners have in store for us. The hour-long stream is expected to reveal a number of the PlayStation 5 games we'll be playing later this year. Many are hoping we'll get news on sequels for some of the PS4's biggest hitters.

As it happens, we might just be in luck. Jeet Shroff, who worked as lead engineer on 2018's God Of War, took to Twitter to tease that Sony Santa Monica will be showing "what the future has in store" at tomorrow night's anticipated event.

Now, it could be that Shroff was simply speaking as a representative of Sony as a wider company, and not Santa Monica specifically - but that seems unlikely. It could also be that Santa Monica is working on a PS5 game that has nothing to do with God Of War... but come on. If the studio behind God Of War has something planned for the PlayStation Future Of Gaming event, it's probably a sequel to God Of War.

While the existence of God Of War 2 has yet to be confirmed in any official capacity, it's widely believed that the studio is already at work on the sequel. Teases towards the future installment started appearing as early as February 2019, on the first anniversary of God Of War's release.

Since then, various job listings have been spotted that all seem to suggest the studio is working on a next-gen action adventure title. The most recent listing called for someone with who has "knowledge of God of War (2018) and is able to speak about the combat systems, mechanics and enemies". I mean... that's evidence enough, surely?

Given the way the last game ended (spoilers inbound), we're assuming God Of War 2 will deal with the oncoming world-ending event known as Ragnarok. Meaning, naturally, that Kratos and Atreus will continue to explore the worlds of Norse mythology while struggling to survive against whatever Odin decides to throw at them.

All of us here at GAMINGbible absolutely adored God Of War, and I've no doubt you did too. Be sure to keep an eye out for any news on the sequel tomorrow night when the PS5 stream kicks off, 9pm BST.
