Looks Like 'Ghost Of Tsushima' Is Coming To PC Too

Now, now, don't start smashing up your consoles...

One of the most acclaimed exclusives for the PlayStation in recent years, a new report alleges Ghost of Tsushima is on its way to PC as soon as 2022.

Hermen Hulst, head of PlayStation Studios, argued that the serious success Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone have seen since they leapt over to PC shows “there’s an appetite from gamers outside the PlayStation ecosystem to experience the amazing portfolio of games that PlayStation fans have enjoyed for years.”

While he emphasised that PlayStation is the platform that these games were made for, PC players have benefitted from sparkly improved visuals, ultrawide display support, unlocked frame rate, controller support for a range of products, mouse and keyboard support and more. And, as God Of War is going to arrive on PC in early 2022, I’m sure even more fans of the series will take the opportunity to set forth on Kratos and Atreus’ journey in a brand new way.

EarlyGame reckons that the omission of “Only on PlayStation” on the boxes of Ghost of Tsushima listed on Amazon is a hint that the celebrated samurai simulator is coming to PC. This happened for Horizon Zero Dawn and Days Gone, so there’s some stock in this realisation. In fact, if you check PlayStation Direct, the artwork also is without the “Only on PlayStation” label. That’s certainly a hint and a half that the game could be ported to PC.

Earlier this month, Sony acquired Nixxes Software to assist it with the development of PC ports, praising the team’s “high quality in-house technical and development capabilities” to transform classic titles for a new community of players. That doesn’t necessarily mean that Ghost of Tsushima for PC is imminent. EarlyGame estimates that the game would be released some time in the middle of 2022 seeing that God of War for PC just got its announcement.

Now, if this news has painted a frown on your face, well, turn that upside down, will you? “We want to reach new gamers who haven’t yet experienced the great stories, characters, and worlds that we’ve built,” continued Hulst in his chat on the PlayStation Blog. “Releasing games on PC will not come ever at the expense of building an exciting lineup of great console games.”
