Geoff Keighley's massive Summer Game Fest has been a pretty major success so far. We've seen some huge reveals, including the debut of Crash Bandicoot 4: It's About Time, and a stunning first-look at Epic's next-gen Unreal Engine 5 in action.
The fun is set to continue later today, when Keighley treats us all to an extended look at the PlayStation 5's ambitious-sounding DualSense controller as part of an exclusive hands-in preview. Sony has been talking up the next-gen controller's unique features an awful lot over the past few months, so it'll be great to finally see exactly what it's capable of at 5pm BST.
Presumably Keighley will be on hand to describe to us how the console's built-in features like haptic feedback and adaptive triggers actually feel. Will that be anything like as good as simply experiencing it for yourself? No, but we've been pretty starved of PlayStation 5 news since the reveal event last month, so I'll take what I can get. Even if that involves watching someone else play with a toy I really want to get my hands on.

The main focus of the DualSense seems to be on the experience of touch. A trademark which was filed with the United States Patent and Trademark Office last month reveals that Sony is at least considering the slogan "Heighten Your Senses" for the new controller.
In a statement when the controller was first announced, Sony wrote: "Based on our discussions with developers, we concluded that the sense of touch within gameplay, much like audio, hasn't been a big focus for many games.
"We had a great opportunity with PS5 to innovate by offering game creators the ability to explore how they can heighten that feeling of immersion through our new controller. This is why we adopted haptic feedback, which adds a variety of powerful sensations you'll feel when you play, such as the slow grittiness of driving a car through mud."

But the feature I'm most excited to learn more about was first teased by a developer a few months back. Apparently, the DualSense will have a feature that actually allows you to feel environmental effects such as falling rain. I have absolutely no idea how that's supposed to work, but I hope we find out later today.
