This week saw Sony quietly announce its plan to roll out a PlayStation 5 update that brings with it a highly sought after feature.

Set to arrive today, the update will implement a few brand-new features including personalised 3D audio profiles designed to allow you to adjust your individual hearing needs.

Check out the previous changes to 3D audio for the PS5 below!

The 3D audio profile will allow PlayStation 5 users to run a sound quality test for devices such as the Pulse Elite wireless headset and Pulse Explore wireless earbuds.

This will allow users to analyse a number of audio features in order to adjust it to their needs.

“For example, your personalized 3D audio profile may enable you to better sense the positions of characters and objects in a game world more clearly than before, making the experience more immersive,” Sony explains.

To access this new update, head to Settings > Sound > 3D Audio and follow the on-screen instructions. You will then be able to make audio presets to access at any time.

As well as this audio update, the PlayStation 5 update also added new remote play settings.

“You can now adjust Remote Play settings per user and choose who is allowed to connect to your PS5 console using Remote Play.

So, if your friends or family members come over and sign in to your PS5 console with their account for PlayStation Network, you can easily modify who can continue to access your PS5 console using Remote Play when they leave.”

To access these settings, head to Settings > System > Remote Play > Enable Remote Play and choose which user you want to enable access to on your console via Remote Play.

These updates have arrived free to the PlayStation 5 this week so be prepared for a small patch when you next boot your console up!
