Xbox has sneakily mentioned their next-gen console in the most subliminal way possible, and only in a random trailer that appeared on social media.

The trailer is, essentially, Sarah Bond, the President of Xbox, talking about how you can play your Xbox games anywhere you like, but it goes a lot deeper than that if you listen to what she actually says.

This video package is to celebrate a new partnership between Xbox and AMD, with Bond saying, “we’re investing in our next-generation hardware line-up.”

She notes that she is “thrilled to announce a strategic mutli-year partnership with AMD to co-engineer silicon across a portfolio of devices, including our next-generation of Xbox consoles.”

She reiterates that this will occur across systems in “your living-room, and in your hands.”

Of course, this is all the information we got from the short video, but it’s a step towards the future of Xbox and goes some way to silence critics who believed that the Xbox hardware was on its way out.

With AMD helping to create the next Xbox chipset, we could be seeing a great future between the two companies, and with Xbox Anywhere, your games will be bridge across several ways to play.

We’re sure to hear much more from Microsoft over the coming months, and fans are already beginning to speculate what’s next.

Some believe that other storefronts will be available on the next Xbox, including Steam, making the hardware more of a PC under your TV, which doesn’t sound like a bad option to most.

This announcement comes shortly after the reveal of the ROG Xbox Ally, a new handheld made in conjunction with ASUS, to put the power of Xbox in your hands and play portably.

The future is looking bright for the Xbox brand, and there’s a lot to be excited about.
