Xbox brings back highly requested feature that'll make our lives so much easier

At last!

Finally, a highly requested feature for Xbox has arrived that will make our lives a little easier.

The digital age can be great, despite the decline in physical media, granting us instant access to video games, movies and music. One of the best ways we can access our digital games is via mobile apps for PlayStation. Without being at home, we can purchase and activate a download to our console in seconds.

However, this feature is not available on Xbox via its official mobile app or at least it wasn't, until now. President of Xbox Sarah Bond has confirmed that from now on, we’ll be able to purchase, download and play our games via the official mobile app.

Before now, we have been able to download games through the Xbox Game Pass mobile app but we’ve not been able to purchase and download games with the standard mobile app.

“The court's ruling to open up Google's mobile store in the US will allow more choice and flexibility,” Bond tweeted. “Our mission is to allow more players to play on more devices so we are thrilled to share that starting in November, players will be able to play and purchase Xbox games directly from the Xbox App on Android.”

This may not seem like a massive deal for some, but those who play on PlayStation will know of the simplistic ease of selecting any game via the PS mobile app and sending the download to your console ready for when you get home.

It may have taken Microsoft a while to get caught up, but as they say, it’s better late than never. The highly requested feature should be available with the latest update for the Xbox mobile app.

It will also be great to potentially have more games available to stream and play on compatible mobile devices. That being said, features may vary depending on your region, so please keep that in mind.
