Xbox Game Pass is getting this year’s most anticipated game, and you’ll be able to play it on Thursday.
Every month, Xbox adds multiple free games to its Game Pass service, allowing you access to them across PC, console, and cloud-enabled devices.
Depending on the tier you’re subscribed to, you’ll have a constant stream of games to play without having to pay more than the service fee.
Now, Xbox has just announced its next slate of games coming to Game Pass in September, and the whole lineup is a banger. However, it’s also getting this year’s most anticipated game.

As posted on Xbox Wire earlier today, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users will be getting Hollow Knight: Silksong on Day 1 when it launches this Thursday.
Hollow Knight: Silksong is the sequel to 2018’s Hollow Knight, one of the most popular indie games of the last decade, which is launching across all platforms this week.

It was originally announced in 2019, followed by years of silence and very little in the way of release date information. We didn’t even get a demo or rough release window.
In that time, it became Steam’s most wishlisted game and one of the most anticipated games of all time (well, besides Half-Life 3 and GTA 6, that is). And last month, it was finally given a release date of 4th September, 2025.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate users will be able to play the game from Thursday, but those on the Standard or Core tiers will have to upgrade to Ultimate if they wish to also play.
In addition to Hollow Knight: Silksong, Xbox Game Pass is also getting I Am Your Beast, Nine Sols, Cataclismo, Paw Patrol World, and Roadcraft this month.

Xbox Game Pass Standard users will be getting I Am Your Beast, Nine Sols, Paw Patrol World, and Roadcraft. Meanwhile, Cataclismo will be exclusive to Ultimate for the time being.
