Xbox drops 8 free games, limited-time only

New Free Play Days

Xbox now has eight free games to enjoy as part of its Free Play Days promotion with all Xbox Game Pass subscriptions.

Free weekends are pretty common across all major gaming platforms. It’s a good way to get you interested in whatever game is being promoted.

Let you play for a few days while you’re off work or school, and then hit you with a store discount so you can continue playing after the free period ends.

Xbox’s Free Play Days promotions are exactly that – subscribers to any tier of Game Pass can pick up a bunch of games at no extra charge and play them for a limited time. Sometimes, this promotion also applies to those who don’t have an active Game Pass subscription.

The latest Free Play Days is all about Warhammer, with eight games available to play during the weekend.

These are the Warhammer games included with the promotion:

  • Warhammer 40,000: Darktide
  • Warhammer 40,000: Chaos Gate – Daemonhunters
  • Warhammer 40,000: Mechanicus
  • Blood Bowl 3
  • Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader
  • Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef
  • Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr Ultimate Edition
  • Warhammer Chaosbane Slayer Edition

These games will be available to any members of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Standard and Core, and are available from now until Sunday 25 May.

To download them on your Xbox One or Series X/S, boot up the console and head to the Subscriptions tab in the store. From here, scroll down to the Free Play Days collection to find the games available to download.

You can also grab them from the Xbox website, by looking at the individual game pages on the Microsoft Store.

If you’d also like to keep playing after the weekend is up, most of these titles are also available to purchase at a discounted price, with some even as cheap as the price of a cup of coffee.
