You likely already know that Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has proven to be an immense success.

The game was made by a small team of around 30 developers, yet it's already sold one million copies in its first three days and has become the highest user-scored game ever on Metacritic.

At the time of writing, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 boasts a Metascore of 92 and a User Score of 9.7 which is beyond incredible.

It’s a monumental achievement; just imagine what the atmosphere is like at Sandfall Interactive this morning.

To fill you in on the basics, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is a turn-based RPG set within a dark fantasy Belle Époque-inspired world.

It follows the volunteers of Expedition 33 who set out to destroy the Paintress, the force behind the yearly Gommage - an event where many perish at a certain age that decreases year upon year.

The game boasts a fantastic voice cast - starring the likes of Charlie Cox, Jennifer English, Andy Serkis, and Ben Starr - and is available across PlayStation 5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S.

You can take a look at the game in action below.

If you want to pick Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 up, it retails for £41.99 but you can bag it for free on Xbox within the cost of your Xbox Game Pass subscription.

That’s right, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 launched on Game Pass day one, and I highly suggest you take advantage of that fact.

Want to know what users had to say?

“Simply a masterpiece. This needs to win GOTY. Nothing has gripped me the way this game has in a long time,” wrote Metacritic user Hyp3rli.

“An absolutely breathtaking game, with some of the best level designs I have ever come across and a soundtrack and story I could completely lose myself to it,” added aventurines.

“After decades of gaming, and now, for the first time, I felt compelled to create an account on Metacritic to rate this game. Thanks for giving me the feeling that no game has managed to do for the last 20 years,” remarked leonardofreitas.

That’s high praise. I’ll admit, I’m yet to embark on a playthrough myself but it’s absolutely my highest priority - and it should be yours too by the sounds of it.
