2024 has been such a ridiculously massive year for video games, which I honestly didn't think was possible after the beast that was 2023.

From Dragon's Dogma 2 and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth earlier this year, to Astro Bot, and Star Wars Outlaws, we've been absolutely spoiled.

There are so many amazing games already available, I almost feel bad telling you that Xbox users can now check out another banger for free.

Metaphor ReFantazio is the new RPG from Persona studio Atlus, and it's getting rave reviews from critics and gamers everywhere.

For GAMINGbible, Dan Lipscombe awarded Metaphor a 9/10 score. Having played it myself, I would agree: it absolutely slaps.

"Metaphor examines what it is to be human in a world filled with war, xenophobia, and an imbalance of societal wealth," Dan wrote in his review.

"Yes, it has castles, fairies, dragons, and the most unique approach to magic I’ve seen outside of literature, but Atlus doesn’t stray from a story built on modern ideas, which is what we’ve come to expect from them."

Given Metaphor is now one of the best-rated games of the year, you might be wondering how you can check it out.

The good news is if you own an Xbox, you can download a hefty demo right now to check out the first few hours of the adventure.

Just head over to Metaphor on the Xbox store and you should see the option to download the prologue demo. Your progress will even carry over, if you decide you want to play more.

It's also worth noting this generously sized demo is also available on Steam, if you're so inclined.
