The upcoming year is already shaping up to be another big one when it comes to AAA releases.

However, according to one discovery, we already have news of another big title arriving to 2026’s docket as one of Xbox’s first-party releases.

Spotted by user cat__statue over on r/GamingLeaksAndRumours, Clockwork Revolution is set to be a 2026 release according to a LinkedIn post by former inXile Entertainment senior narrative designer Nathan Long.

Best known for titles such as Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera, inXile Entertainment was purchased by Microsoft and became part of Xbox Game Studios back in 2018 and since the launch of Wasteland 3 in 2020, it seems as though it has been working on Clockwork Revolution.

According to Long’s LinkedIn profile, he has listed Clockwork Revolution under his 2026 projects, working as a senior writer, narrative designer, and lyricist in the upcoming action RPG.

Set to be released on both PC and Xbox Series X/S, Clockwork Revolution is a first-person, time-bending steampunk RPG set in the metropolis of Avalon.

Thanks to an invention that allows you to travel into the past and influence key events, players will be able to alter the course of history.

“After stumbling across an incredible invention that allows you to travel into the past, you discover the city you call home—the vibrant steam-powered metropolis of Avalon—has been carefully crafted through the alteration of historical events,” the official synopsis reads.

“By traveling back to key moments, your interactions and choices will have a butterfly effect on the deep, narrative-driven world and characters of Avalon, causing them to change and react in unprecedented ways.”

Xbox Users Are Excited For This One

Until now, Clockwork Revolution has not received an official release window, being marked simply as ‘Coming Soon’ across eligible platforms.

However, thanks to Long’s LinkedIn profile, we can safely assume that this first-party Xbox release will launch some time in 2026.

“Expect this will be the best RPG Microsoft have released,” one user said over on Reddit.

“Chad Moore AND Jason D. Anderson as leads.”

Another agreed, adding, “Steampunk is my second favorite “punk” after cyberpunk.

Can’t wait for this one.”

Clockwork Revolution’s 2026 release has not been officially announced by Xbox but if this discovery is anything to go by, it will not be long before we are diving in to the time-bending action.
