Critically acclaimed Xbox exclusive could be coming to PlayStation this year

This Xbox exclusive could be coming to PlayStation and Nintendo consoles later this year

An unknown Xbox exclusive is rumoured to be going cross-platform later this year, and fans have a pretty good guess for which one it might be.

Xbox exclusives are few and far between these days, especially compared to its rival PlayStation which constantly boasts some of the best games on the market exclusively for its home consoles.

That being said, Xbox still has a few aces up its sleeve, most notably Halo, Forza and Gears of War.

Its acquisition of Bethesda and recently Activision-Blizzard have also bolstered its potential exclusives, though the head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, has made it clear that big names like Call of Duty will remain multiplatform, and the concept of console wars is outdated and not part of the company’s plan moving forward.

Recently on the Nate the Hate podcast, it was revealed one of Xbox’s biggest games will be releasing on other platforms later this year, though the title itself wasn’t disclosed.

Fans have been left speculating what the mystery game might be, with many fingers pointing to Hi-Fi Rush, a surprise 2023 Xbox exclusive that did well amongst reviewers and players, and is still a solid addition to Xbox Game Pass at the time of writing. A Microsoft leaker has supported the theory by claiming the game will see a release on Nintendo Switch later this year.

Nothing has been confirmed as of yet, meaning it could very well be Hi-Fi Rush releasing on other consoles, possibly even the PlayStation 5, or it could be something entirely different. It’s quite safe to assume it won’t be any of the big exclusives like Halo or Gears Of War, though never say never.

All that’s left to do now is patiently wait for additional news. Hopefully Hi-Fi Rush is set to become playable to a wider audience as it’s a phenomenal game, and one that’d feel right at home on PlayStation and Nintendo consoles.
