As confirmed by Microsoft themselves in an Xbox Update Preview, a new feature is finally coming to Xbox consoles that everyone has been begging them for.

Be warned though, only a select few of you lucky lot are going to be granted access to the feature immediately.

Star Wars Outlaws is almost here, and we think you're going to love it

The rest of you will get it eventually as well, but some of you might have noticed that the feature has already gone live on your systems.

On the Xbox Update Preview Release Notes page, it’s specified that members of the “Xbox insider” Alpha ring group will have already received the preview update “2408.240812-2000”.

There’s a couple of juicy details in here, but the most exciting one is the introduction of a brand new wishlist feature.

As the page explains, only “a random subset of Alpha users will notice” that Microsoft has “added your wish list directly to Home. Just scroll down from the top of Home to check it out.”

So not only do you have to already be a member of the Alpha ring group, but even then you won’t necessarily be granted access to this feature.

Basically only the 1% of the 1% will currently be able to mess around with it.

Of course, this update will eventually go live for all users sometime down the line (unless something goes horribly wrong), but there’s no way to tell exactly when the general public will have access to it.

If you’re curious how you can become a part of the Alpha ring group, the bad news is that it’s not exactly something you can just apply for.

To join the group, you have to be invited to it by Microsoft themselves.

Users in the past have noted that doing stuff like reporting bugs and completing Xbox surveys increases your chance of an invite, but it does seem like there’s a lot of guess work and assumptions being made.

Ultimately, you’ll have to just get lucky and hope Microsoft deems you worthy of admission.
