The end is coming, and as you’d expect with such finality, it isn’t pretty.

We’ve had several weeks to prepare for the lacklustre finale of the Xbox 360, but that doesn’t make coming to terms with its demise any easier.

As the Xbox 360 Marketplace enters the final stretch, thousands of games, avatars, and themes will soon be gone.

It truly is the end of an era.

Although sad news, there’s a silver lining to be found within all this: heavy discounts.

If you fancy playing a modern Xbox title, Magical Delicacy is worth checking out

There are bargains to be found here, however, there’s a significantly harsh time limit on their availability.

Games available for other hardware, such as the Xbox One, will remain available to purchase.

But those for the 360 will be delisted indefinitely, meaning time is of the essence here, people.

It’s an unusual time to be an Xbox fan.

While this part of Xbox is culled, other remnants of the 360 remain.

Remember the ‘Blades’ theme? That’s still available in spite of all these delistings, though it isn’t quite as you remember it.

Microsoft giveth, and Microsoft taketh away.

Sadly, the minor Xbox 360 revivals dangled in front of us to ease the sting of the Xbox 360 being killed off is bittersweet, to say the least.

As the door slowly closes on this chapter in Xbox’s history, another has opened, albeit ahead of schedule.

New Xbox hardware has leaked online ahead of any official announcement, meaning collectors should prepare their bank accounts for a hefty dip in funds.

Looking toward the future, there’s a lot of cheeky surprises to remedy the pain of losing the Xbox 360 Marketplace.

Still, when nostalgia hits hard, and we seek comfort in the old ways, we’ll soon have nowhere to go to soothe ourselves.
