Xbox has given one lucky fan $1,000,000 of in-store credit for participating in a giveaway through Microsoft Rewards.

Like nearly every gaming platform nowadays, Xbox gives you the opportunity to earn points through making purchases, getting achievements, and taking part in a number of activities through its reward apps.

With the points you earn you can redeem them for in-store credit vouchers, which you can put towards the latest titles like Monster Hunter Wilds

Over the last few months Xbox fans have had the chance to win a value of $1,000,000 in in-store credit without having to save it up themselves, and now a winner has been announced.

Microsoft announced the winner through one of its blogs, with the money going to a Ron G in the USA.

The news was quickly shared with the Xbox Reddit communities who congratulated the winner.

Six lucky individuals also earned a prize of $10,000 as runner ups, so congratulations if you were one of those people.

Microsoft also confirmed a total of $162,230 was donated to Unicef and the WWF as part of the competition.

If you entered into the giveaway and unfortunately didn’t win anything, commiserations. That said you do have another chance coming up as another competition was announced, this time offering a total of $2,000,000 in-store credit as a prize, though this might be split up into smaller prizes.

In the meantime you can continue saving up points the old-fashioned way through playing games and completing challenges.

You might have seen recently but if you play on Xbox consoles and PC you’ve got more opportunity to earn points as there are challenges you can only do on console and vice-versa on PC.

If you have both platforms you can basically earn twice as much as usual if you’re dedicated enough, which gets you even closer to those in-store credit cards.
