As you may have seen already, there have been some pretty substantial claims made about The Elder Scrolls VI over the last few days.

Naturally, fans who have been starved of details on the long-awaited follow-up to Skyrim are eager for any information they can get. Especially when it's been seven years since the game was announced.

As reported by eXtas1s on YouTube (a source with a proven, if unreliable, track record), The Elder Scrolls VI is said to be Hammerfell. So far so obvious, given every single teaser so far has pointed to this.

More interestingly, it sounds like we'll be able to explore multiple regions. On top of that, we'll be able to build and customise our own ships and have naval battles. Underwater exploration and various smaller islands were also teased.

As exciting as this all sounds, fans are wary. We can certainly understand why: it's always wise to take reports like this with a pinch of salt.

"I don't believe in any of the rumors because I don't want to hype myself up for a game we currently don't know anything about," one Reddit user writes.

Another points out: "Honestly, I expected all of this, but seeing 'abandoning classes' makes me think it’s fake. We haven’t seen classes in a BGS game for 20 years. Why mention it now?"

Others are allowing themselves to get a little more excited.

"You better be able to sail to the Islands and not just fast travel to their shore," hopes one fan.

"We have space ships in Starfield. Sea ships in Elder Scrolls seems logical, and they have been in past games, they were prominent in Daggerfall. I also feel we could see ragtag busted up vehicles in future Fallout games," says another.

Hopefully we learn something official about The Elder Scrolls VI soon, because it's clear the wait is killing fans.
