Starfield fans stumble across early sneak peek, are blown away

We're not crying – you're crying! It's just ... so beautiful.

We’ll take any new details we can about Starfield, especially when it’s a glorious discovery involving the game’s soundtrack.

On 21 August, a Redditor shared a video that plays two songs from the title in their entirety. ‘First Flight’ is a song that'll be familiar to those who watched the Starfield Direct, while ‘The Sol System’ will be a brand new experience for anyone who isn’t currently reviewing the game.

Right now, a lot of fans, like the OP, are “searching desperately for something new about Starfield” – there’s still two full weeks to go before the game officially launches, and nine days until the review embargo lifts. Although there’s been some unfortunate leaks of late-game footage, for the most part, those of us not blessed with a review code are simply grabbing whatever information we can find.

Being able to listen to just two of the songs that will serenade us on our journeys, arguably adding poignancy and further beauty to what we find among the stars, is getting players excited for when they experience the music in-game. User -Captain- said, “Magnificent find my man!! No clue if these tracks have been shared before somewhere, but it's new to me.” They added, “The beginning of 'The Sol System' is beautiful, so peaceful and inspiring. Definitely something I'd love to hear when getting my first view of space. Can't wait to listen to the rest!”

Bethesda has always provided a strong soundtrack, in my opinion, especially in the Fallout franchise where the soundtrack really set the tone of the postmodern, apocalyptic world we had to endure. However, not everyone shares that profound love of Fallout’s music; one Redditor said, “I was never really blown away by the fallout soundtracks he had done, but so far the Starfield stuff seems to hit way above that level. It seems more evocative in the way that the Skyrim soundtrack was.”

With gamers already losing entire nights to the game, being able to listen to a sneak peek of the musical might of Starfield will only make fans long for more. And we can’t blame them – I’m now more desperate than ever to get in my ship and go exploring!

For us mere mortals, the official release date for Starfield is 6 September, with the game coming to Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
