With Fallout 3 first being released almost sixteen-years ago, it is safe to say that it is not up to the modern standards of gaming.

However, with the RPG title being such a classic, it is no wonder that fans want to return to it.

Luckily for them, one person has discovered a way to bring Fallout 3 up to modern day standards with some simple tweaks.

First released in 2008 as a direct sequel to Fallout 2, Fallout 3 was the first in the series to be developed by Bethesda after it acquired the rights from Interplay Entertainment.

Often considered as one of the best in the series, it is no wonder that fans are still flocking to it after all these years.

However, as a way to make it look a bit more modern, one fan over on r/XboxSeriesX has some recommendations.

“Been playing Fallout 3 lately on Xbox Series X and I am absolutely loving it,” they wrote.

“It's crazy how game availability (backward compatibility + game pass), One X Enhancements (4k + forced 16xAF), FPS boost (60fps), fast loading times (SSD) and Quick Resume transform the game into a remaster!”

Comparing it to how PC players must feel, it wasn’t long before the post gained some traction.

“I agree. I revisited the game after the 60fps addition, and all of those additional factors give it the feel of a remaster. It practically is one all things considered,” another comment read.

“Instant loading times between zones is awesome.”

Another said: “As a PC gamer it's nice to see Microsoft embracing quality of life improvements like those because it is what the PC community cherish, the ability to mod and make games work the way they want to work.

A big part of me wants to add a Series X to support their direction and sell my PS5.”
