The Witcher meets The Last Of Us in gruesome new horror

Two worlds collide

The Witcher and The Last Of Us are two of the hottest video game franchises right now, but both aren’t due another game for a couple of years so why not play this instead?

Sorry for the bleak reminder, I want The Witcher 4 and The Last Of Us Part 3 as much as the next person but these things take time and we have no choice but to wait for them.

It’ll be worth the wait though, especially the next Witcher game if it’s even twice as good as The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

In the meantime though there are plenty of games out there that carry a similar vibe, one of which will be coming to Steam sometime in the future.

It’s called Blight: Survival, and it’s a fun mediaeval take on the undead apocalypse formula that sees the player take on the horde as a knight in shining armour.

Set in an alternative 14th century the dead are roaming the Earth, but rather than the guns and advanced weaponry you’d have in The Last Of Us’ fungal nightmare you’re restricted to the weapons of the time.

While the medieval setting does give Witcher vibes though you are not a Witcher, so while you’re pretty good with a sword or bow you’re not going to be firing off any magic spells.

It looks like a fun game though nevertheless, and while it only looks like a small adventure it seems like it’ll be worth playing when it eventually launches.

Currently there’s no release date though, only that pesky “To be announced” label that Steam is known for, so you’ll have to add it to your wishlist for updates on the launch day.

Tell you what though, I’m definitely in the mood for another fantasy RPG, maybe it’s time to boot up The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt again, or perhaps Baldur’s Gate 3?
