The Elder Scrolls 6 can wait, we've some new DLC for Christmas

Merry Christmas

Ho ho ho, it’s Christmas time, and with it comes a new DLC that’ll have you forgetting all about The Elder Scrolls VI.

Unless some annoying writer (that’s me) reminds you.

With fans still in disbelief over the game’s announcement, they need something else to occupy their time.

As fun as it is to theorise about The Elder Scrolls VI, eventually you become numb to any and all ideas.

Remember this?

We’re going to pull you out of the funk you’re in. Or rather, Bethesda will.

The Elder Scrolls Online festivities have officially commenced now that the New Life Festival is back in Tamriel.

Although the Christmas cheer has already begun, it’ll continue making citizens merry until 7 January.

We’re certain you can squeeze in a day or two’s worth of play time to claim some of the rewards and bonuses on offer.

By just partaking in the New Life Festival, you’ll automatically receive a 100 percent increase to XP just for logging into the game.

Further rewards will quickly come your way by completing the introductory quest.

Breda’s Bottomless Mead Mug is the prize that awaits. It might not be the sort of special item you were hoping for, but hey, a bottomless mug of mead sounds fantastic to me.

Assuming you stick around for the long haul this Christmas, there are several daily challenges you can work through.

Each time you finish one, you’ll get a New Life Festival Box.

Don't let the uninventive name fool you, for there’s a lot of goodies to be found inside. Any one of the following items could be hiding in here:

  • Assortments of alchemy crafting materials
  • Sword Swallower Kit
  • Juggling Knives
  • Fire-Breather’s Torches
  • Mudballs
  • Wolfsbane Incense
  • A Skinchanger motif page
  • New Life Festival Recipes
  • New Life Furnishings
  • Deep Winter Charity Writs
  • Imperial Charity Writs
  • NEW A Bolt of Winter Storm Cloth - If you’ve already earned a Bolt of Winter Storm Cloth that day, a Morning Star Frostwear outfit style page or an Evergreen armor outfit style page will be given instead
  • NEW The Runebox for the Surprising Snowglobe memento - The chance to receive this increases based on how many bolts of the New Life Winter Storm Robes you have earned

That’s more than enough to entertain you over the festive period.

Bet you don’t even care about a certain game anymore...
