An incredible game is available to play for free on Steam right now, that’s equal parts Legend Of Zelda and Valheim.

As someone who loves a good open-world to explore, few games have caught my interest quite like Aloft, a title that sees players explore the skies amidst floating islands.

Check out the trailer for Aloft below

The game’s official description reads: “Soar the skies in Aloft, the co-op sandbox survival game set in a world of floating islands. Build any island into a skyship, your home in the clouds. Find lost knowledge, cure the fungal corruption, and brave the hurricane to restore the ecosystem.”

It’s got a Legend Of Zelda vibe to it, but the more modern Zelda games like Zelda: Breath Of The Wild and Tears Of The Kingdom to be exact.

You can either float around on a glider like Link when he’s exploring Hyrule, but it’s more the art style and game-feel where I draw the most similarities.

Of course it’s also got a lot in common with Valheim, a sandbox game where you can team up with other players to explore a magical land, build colossal bases and fight terrifying monsters as you forage and mine for supplies.

If you’ve played either of those games and enjoyed them you’d like Aloft too, but if you’re still on the fence you’ll be glad to hear you can try the game for free on Steam right now.

A demo is playable for the upcoming title, which currently has a release date of sometime in January 2025, so it won’t be too long before you can take the entire game for a spin.

The demo should give you a taste of what the world of Aloft has in store for you, so if you’re looking for something new to play give it a go and be sure to add it to your wishlist for updates on its launch date.
