Zelda, Stardew Valley Collide In New Ghibli-Esque RPG

Cosy by name, cosy by nature

If you were after a cosy Studio Ghibli-esque RPG with vibes of The Legend of Zelda and Stardew Valley, then look no further than this Steam game.

While two entirely different RPGs, the likes of The Legend of Zelda and Stardew Valley, are adored by their respective communities.

Ever since the first Zelda game launched on the NES in 1986, Nintendo has taken us on countless adventures with memories that will last a lifetime.

The Legend of Zelda has provided so many all-time classics, such as A Link to the Past, Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker and Breath of the Wild, to name a few. Now, fans are eagerly awaiting the next mainline entry on the Nintendo Switch 2 (which hasn't been announced at the time of writing).

As for Stardew Valley, originally released in 2016 before being ported to multiple platforms across generations, it requires you to care for a cute farm in a small village populated by charming NPCs. When it comes to cosy games, it doesn't get much cosier than this indie darling.

So, what is this cosy RPG that blends elements of not only The Legend of Zelda but also Stardew Valley, and the animated movies from Studio Ghibli? That game in question is developed and published by the indie team at UnlaeD, called Cozy Crest.

“Immerse yourself in a magical experience,” reads the description of the game on Steam. “Master elemental magic and use it to help you build your home and help villagers build theirs, expand your land, make new friends, and find love. Play in single-player or in co-op multiplayer with up to four players.”

“Cultivate your very own piece of land with some magical crops. Use elemental powers to help you build up your farm. Personalise your character's living space with a vast selection of options and decorations. Build and expand your home and farm. Create your dream home!”

After watching some gameplay, The Legend of Zelda vibe is clear to see with its art style and world, especially with later games in the series, not to mention having those Studio Ghibli vibes. All glued together with farming elements reminiscent of Stardew Valley.

Sadly, however, at the time of writing, Cozy Crest does not have a release date, other than it’s coming to Steam “soon”.

In the meantime, be sure to add it to your Steam wishlist to be notified when that release date drops. Hopefully, that information will arrive sooner rather than later.
