If you want to play an “immersive” new horror game from Steam to download and keep, then you might want to check this out.

The Steam store is oversaturated with an abundance of indie games, some better than others. Of course, the best benefit of checking out a free playable demo is that we get the best indication of whether a game is worth our time before we part with our hard-earned money.

Check out the Hide Time trailer below!

One demo that we can check out today for free is an indie horror game from Midnight_Games called Hide Time. By the looks of the trailer, it seems to be inspired by Poppy Play Time and Five Nights at Freedy’s with an added emphasis on puzzle-solving.

“Hide Time is a story-driven horror game filled with a huge variety of puzzles where you play as a new employee of Passion Oasis. Explore that huge complex, do your tasks and uncover mysteries of your past,” reads the description on Steam.

“Welcome to Passion Oasis, a place where you can express yourself and have lots and lots of fun. Your main job will be to make sure the place is ready for the grand opening next week.”

The free playable demo was made available on 6 January 2025 and at the time of writing, it has 35 reviews on Steam with an overall “Positive” rating. However, a trailer for Hide Time does warn gamers that the title is still in development and the product is not final.

“Hide Time is a suspenseful horror game that keeps you on edge from start to finish. The atmosphere is immersive, with eerie environments and chilling sound design. The gameplay focuses on exploration and solving puzzles while avoiding terrifying enemies,” reads a user review from Homelander (who may or may not be one of The Boys).

No release date has been announced for the finished version of Hide Time but be sure to keep tabs on its Steam page should that information drop.
