A new free-to-play multiplayer game has dropped on Steam, and so far, it’s garnering some pretty positive reactions from players.

Essentially a board game, that looks like Monopoly from the outset, but gets more and more fiendish, Investour looks like it might be your next party game with mates.

Described by the developer as a “fast-paced multiplayer board game,” this game is all about investing, staying ahead of your opponents, and playing tactically.

You will “compete against friends or players from around the globe as you buy, upgrade, and dominate unique locations on the board. With quirky characters, hilarious interactions, and unexpected twists, every match is a fresh challenge.”

To add the game to your library, all you need is a Steam account, and it’s yours to play and keep forever.

Early players are loving the game and leaving positive reviews, pushing up its overall rating to ‘Positive.’

“Incredible game, my friend and I were cursing each other while laughing,” says one player in their review.

Another user wrote, “It's fun, free, and the games are quick. Great alternative for people who enjoy Monopoly and want fast-paced fun with friends.”

This certainly seems worth checking out - what would you lose? Other than a little time, it’s not like you’ve got to drop any cash on it.

“8/10, would play again,” said another player.

Investour looks to be a silly distraction for you and your mates to play in between other games, and if you don’t have any friends, well, then I can’t help you.

It’s got to be better than Monopoly, right? Not that Monopoly is a bad game, but it’s such a hassle to play and everyone argues over who gets to be the banker, then your cousins cheat, and it ruins Christmas Day because now your grandmother is crying.
