We all play games for a variety of different reasons, whether that’s due to their fast-paced, action-filled gameplay or slow and heartwarming narratives, to name a few.

However, I don’t know about you, but sometimes I pick up a game solely because it looks good and that is definitely the case for one of Steam’s latest additions.

In related news, Hogwarts Legacy is currently 70% off in the Steam Autumn Sale!

Released on 27 November, 30 Birds is an indie narrative adventure set in a world inspired by Persian art.

This narrative puzzle-game is laid out on the surface of rotating lanterns and as you wander through its beautifully crafted world, you will get to meet quirky birds and solve puzzles in order to rescue the Goddess Simurgh who has been kidnapped by an evil scientist.

As a result of her disappearance, Lantern City is now on the verge of disaster.

“In 30 Birds, you play as Zig, a young detective sent to bustling Lantern City to track down The Scientist,” the official synopsis reads.

“Alongside Hoop, a talented hoopoe stand-up comedian, you'll encounter a whole madhouse of feathered friends and quirky characters as you explore dazzling Lantern City from top to bottom. Solve a variety of puzzles to foil the plans of the obnoxious Scientist behind the kidnapping to save the bird Goddess Simurgh.”

With a blend of 2D and 3D art with hand-drawn visuals inspired by Persian miniatures, 30 Birds is unlike any other indie game released this year.

Set to an energetic ska/dub/reggae soundtrack, developers RAM RAM Games are bringing 30 Birds to you for 10% off for a limited time.

So if you want to experience another beautiful indie adventure before the year ends, you know what to do and it seems like people agree.

“Bloody gorgeous, surreal lil story, cute characters, and it feels super great just moving around,” one positive review reads over on Steam.

“So far I've only found *one* bird and am absolutely hanging on to find the next 29! 30 Birds is worth it for the art alone, but holy cow did they cram in a lot of great game into this little package. 10/10 and a bunch of gold stars!”
