Steam makes hit game free to download and keep for 1 month

You need this freebie

Steam has made an acclaimed game free to download, no strings attached; it's yours to keep but you’ve only got a month to get it.

Without wasting any time, the game is none other than Tell Me Why, and it ain’t nothin but a heartache.

Putting it simply, it's a narrative adventure game developed by DONTNOD Entertainment and published by Xbox Game Studios.

Tell Me Why’s description reads: “Tell Me Why is the multi-award winning episodic adventure game from Dontnod Entertainment in which twins use their supernatural bond to discover the truth of their troubled past.”

Basically, the twins have supernatural abilities that let them look into the past, not through time travel but rather creating echoes from a time long past, specifically their childhood.

As you can imagine it’s an emotional ride, and the story will keep you guessing up until the final credits. It’s very, very good.

It’s also free! Steam is giving the entire game away for free until the end of the month, not a demo, the whole game in celebration of Pride Month.

There is a free demo available that’ll take you through Episode 1 but this giveaway will give you access to all episodes, usually valued at around £15, so a pretty good deal.

You can claim the game for your Steam library until 1 July, upon which it’ll return to its original price.

If you haven’t played the game yet, this is clearly your best chance to do so, as even if you’re not a huge fan of narrative titles, I think you’ll probably like this one.

This makes a nice change of pace too as Steam regularly offers free games, but not many as valuable as Tell Me Why. Usually, they’re just solo dev indie titles so this was a pleasant surprise.

Don’t miss your chance to play Tell Me Why for free. This offer will expire on 1 July so even if you think you won’t play it, there’s no harm in grabbing it anyway.
