Steam’s newest freebie is one that’ll likely be a big hit with the gooners, you lot know who you are.

Gaming contains so many genres and appeals to such a wide range of people that it’s not uncommon to see groups forming unique fanbases.

Recently there’s been a boom in what I’d call “gooner games”, a good example being last year’s Stellar Blade which made headlines for all the weirdest reasons.

Though who are we to judge what gets your rocks off, as long as nobody is being hurt it should be a-ok, and one of Steam’s upcoming releases is seemingly trying to appeal to the Stellar Blade crowd.

Horizon Walker is the latest free-to-play title to grace Valve’s online storefront and while the full game will require a purchase you can try it out right now for absolutely nothing.

The game’s description actually caught me off guard, simply saying “Eat God, and you will have everything—the story of a human who devoured God.” Not quite sure what to make of that but it’s at least intriguing and makes you want to know more about the game.

Checking out the screenshots and gameplay footage plastered across the game’s store page you’ll likely immediately see why we’re calling this a gooner game, as the in-game “assets” are rather ridiculous.

In terms of actual gameplay it’s a turn-based RPG that promises “a unique storyline and captivating graphics.”

One part that particularly made me chuckle was the Key Features, which lists “Unique and Distinctive Characters” as one of the game’s selling points.

Again, who are we to judge as there are plenty of games out there that boast adult-themed visuals that are actually phenomenal games in their own right, such as Nier Automata for instance.

The Horizon Walker demo is available on Steam right now, so give it a go if you’re interested.
